I have doubts about the resulting quality, but maybe I'll give it a try with Pot Player. So far the only possibility seems to screen capture.
Is the quality reasonably good (1080p)?Īfter all this, my question still remains: "How to convert slide show to mp4 or other video format?" I will look into PowerPoint (I've never used it for anything because I tried it and didn't like it, but I didn't know it had this feature. You can also use Microsoft PowerPoint which can export as video files. Premiere Elements is too unwieldy for me, and has some design flaws (like Microsoft, Adobe loves to attempt to tell the user what the user wants).
I personally prefer Shotcut and Avidemux (depending on the level of editing to be done). In addition to importing pictures from your camera, FastStone allows you to scan an image or use the screen capture tool to create a screenshot. Viewing EXIF data with FastStone is easy as well. I would use Quicktime, iMovie, Premiere Elements, etc instead of FastTone to directly create mp4 or mov format. There are more than 150 transitions and effects to make your slideshow more exciting, and you can also add music. Have you tried using the Lightroom Slide module? It has the advantage of being able to run on both Mac's and PC's. I there no way of sequencing them and perhaps inserting transitions.
zip A zip (compressed) format of the exe file above.
There are some scanning devices available - I looked into it a few years back (I have hundreds of slides I took in South America in the 1960s and they are fading) but ended up having a few dozen of the best slides scanned by a photo studio. FastStone Capture 9.7 : exe: exe (site 2) zip: portable: download: download: download: download FastStone Capture Tutorial : tutorial Note: exe A single executable file that installs the application in your computer. Very quick and easy to create, which is what lured me in the first place.Īs far as actual slides, I gave up on those years ago. Can't reduce file size enough to email them (I can compress pretty large mp4 files down to 12MB with no problem, using Avidemux). What is the problem with using the present executable files?Ģ. What is the problem with using the present executable files? I there no way of sequencing them and perhaps inserting transitions. It matters because I am trying to integrate the two effectively, but cannot justify the cost of some of the programs mentioned. Once they are in a FastStone slide show format (.exe) does it matter?
Thanks in advance for any methods or leads.Īre you starting with digital image files or actual slides or pictures? My question: how can I convert these slide shows into video clips? FastStone generates them as apps (.exe extension). Output file sizes are roughly comparable (3.5min = ~29mb). The FastStone results are quite satisfactory, and the process takes a small fraction of the time compared to compiling a video with Adobe, Shotcut, Avidemux, etc. I've also made some slide shows, using FastStone Image Viewer, in the same way. I've been making videos out of still images strung together, with a duration of about 25 seconds for each still image. I'm hoping this is the right place to ask this question.
